Hello! I go by DJ, and I am a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep, based in Boston, Massachusetts. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Journalism, with a minor in Political Science from Boston University and I have a Master’s of Education Degree in Higher Education Administration at Northeastern University. For the first two years of my career, I worked at Bottom Line, a community-based organization in Boston where I worked as a College Access Counselor, helping caseloads of 65 students per year complete their college and financial aid applications. I became fascinated by the admissions process, and then transitioned to being an Admissions Counselor and then an Assistant Director of Admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I spent my time at MIT reviewing first-year applications for domestic and international admissions, supervising a team of student employees, and planning events for multicultural outreach. 

I have always been most passionate about working with students, and left admissions to work for the Boston Public School District. I always have believed in an empathetic and understanding approach to working with students, to ensure they always feel listened to and understood. I have particularly worked with students of underrepresented backgrounds in my most recent role (including students with disabilities, LGBTQ+ students, and many other groups), and also have worked with a number of engineering programs geared at students interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).
