Meet Your Host:

David Merson, FORMER ADMISSIONS EVALUATOR, BROWN UNIVERSITY

I am a Former Brown Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep in Providence, Rhode Island. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University, with a dual concentration in History and Biomedical Ethics. After working in a law firm in Washington DC, I attended Cornell Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor in Public Law. Following law school, I served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Navy for three years, stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois and Newport, Rhode Island. Following my military service, I worked as an attorney for the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service. Thereafter, I practiced immigration law for over 10 years.

After a long legal career, I transitioned into higher education, helping undergraduate students find internships and post-graduation positions, as well as guiding them through the application process for top graduate and law schools. I also taught international students in a course focused on professionalism and career readiness. In addition, I worked at Northeastern University and Suffolk University Law School, and ran a program for student veterans at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Now, I am an Admission Specialist at Brown University and a member of the InGenius Prep team.
